Building the politics for protecting our public lands and waters

Explore further

The Wilderness Society Action Fund was created in 2017 to stop the worst attacks on public lands and waters in the history of our country. We hope you’ll stand with us in this critical moment.

What you can do right now to make a difference

  1. Make sure you're registered to vote

First things first: well before any election, you should make sure you’re eligible to vote and check your registration status. Depending on where you live, you may need to bring a form of ID or other materials with you to the polls, so make sure you have what you need

  2. Research the candidates and issues

Whether you’re voting in a local, congressional or presidential race, it’s a good idea to do a little research on where the candidates stand so you’re as well informed as possible when it’s time to cast a ballot. You can start with our quick round-up of Democratic presidential candidates’ climate change and public lands proposals.

  3. Get the word out to friends and family

One of the most impactful things you can do is also one of the simplest: ask your parents, neighbors, coworkers and friends whether they’re registered and ready to vote. You can also share our tools on social media to spread the word about important public lands issues.
